22 hours 30 minutes and 120.00

So on Friday afternoon at about 1:00 my mom and I were talking about me going to see Wonderland with my BFF Melissa on Saturday. My mom was about to say yes when the phone rang. I was hoping that it was the people I was babysitting for saying that I didn't need to babysit on Friday. I got half of that wish. It was the Smiths, but she was asking if I had anything going on on Saturday. My mom preceded in asking me if I could babysit for them from 7:30 am until 10:00 pm. The look on my face must have been horrendous. Through clenched teeth I replied that I was free. So on Friday night at 4:30 I got a ride over to the Smiths and babysat until 11:00 pm. It really wasn't all that bad. I was almost excited to spend my entire Saturday with five kids from the age of 11 all the way to 1 1/2. ALMOST. So I got up at 7 on Saturday and got ready to go and see the Smith kids. I was bored out of my freaking skull. I was trying to be the nice me, and if any of you know me than you know that that is really hard. Those kids were driving me up the wall by 1:00. I was dead beat and just wanted to take a nap. We were able to get all of the chores done, able to eat 3 meals, and made brownies with "genuine chocolate flavor" and a batch of snicker-doodles. At 9:59 pm the parents still hadn't come home so I called mom to tell her that I didn't know when I would be home. She said ok and that it wasn't even 9:00 yet. I said that at their house it was ten. Mom replied that it was only 8:55pm. That was when I realized that I had sent the kids to bed at 7:00 not 8:00 and that was why they hadn't been tired. I thought how much of an idiot I was. So since I didn't need to expect the parents for another hour, I did what any 14 year old girl would do. OK maybe not any . . . I sat down in the rocking chair with the book Matilda and began to read. I was half way through  it when Todd and Tammy showed up. All in the 2 days I had babysat for 22 hours and 30 minutes my pay was a healthy 120 dollars.
